Rafa Mir, on loan from Sevilla to Elche this season, has publicly responded after being sentenced to eight and a half years in prison for sexual assault and injury.

Rafa Mir spoke out on social media, stating that he does not agree with the verdict and will appeal in the coming days.

"I do not agree with this verdict, and we will appeal in the coming days. I still trust in justice," the striker wrote on his official personal account.

The verdict was delivered to all parties this Monday but is not yet effective. The ruling also requires compensation of €64,000 to the victim of sexual assault and €6,280 to the complainant in the injury case.

The High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community stated that this ruling can be appealed to a higher court. Rafa Mir continues to oppose the verdict and believes that the judicial process will continue in accordance with the law.
