Raphinha and Yamal among La Liga's top eight duos ever with 20 goals in first 9 rounds

According to Marca, Barcelona forwards Raphinha and Yamal have maintained their excellent scoring form this season, netting a combined 20 goals in the first nine rounds of La Liga. They are the eighth pair in La Liga history to reach that tally in the opening nine league rounds.

Raphinha and Yamal currently lead the races for the La Liga Pichichi Trophy (top scorer award) and the Zarra Trophy (top Spanish scorer award), respectively. The pair have maintained strong scoring form, contributing 20 of Barcelona’s 39 goals in the first nine La Liga rounds of the season.

Brazilian forward Raphinha played against Real Betis but failed to score. Meanwhile, Mbappé scored twice for Real Madrid, reducing Raphinha’s lead in the La Liga scoring charts to three goals.

Yamal also extended his scoring streak, netting his eighth league goal of the season. He sits third in the Pichichi Trophy standings, behind Mbappé, and remains the league’s leading Spanish scorer.

Raphinha and Yamal’s combined 20 goals make them the eighth duo in La Liga history to score at least 20 goals in the league’s first nine rounds.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale were the last pair to achieve this feat, scoring 16 and 4 goals respectively in the first nine rounds of the 2014-15 season for a combined total of 20 goals.

In La Liga history, among pairs who scored more than 20 goals in the first nine rounds, the record is 22 goals, shared by two pairs.

The first pair was Real Oviedo’s Lángara and Herrerita in the 1935–36 season, while the second was Barcelona’s César and Marco Aurelio in the 1960–61 season. Both pairs scored 14 and 8 goals, respectively.

Two other pairs scored a combined 21 goals across the first nine league rounds.

Among them, Echevarría and Antón of Real Oviedo scored 14 and 7 goals, respectively, during the 1943-44 season, while Cristiano Ronaldo and Higuaín of Real Madrid scored 12 and 9 goals, respectively, during the 2011-12 season.
