Raul Gonzalez has compared Real Madrid's UEFA Youth League success to other glorious moments he experienced when he was a player at the same club.
The Spanish coach led Los Blancos to the title for the first time in their history after beating Benfica 3-2 in the final.
"Look, I have experienced beautiful things at this club, but this...," he said after his youngsters' victory.
"It is comparable to other great moments that I have lived as a player.
"It is beautiful.
"We must congratulate [the players].
"It is an important step for their careers and an award for all the people who have worked in the academy, for the players and coaches.
"Congratulations to all Madridistas because this belongs to everyone."
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez travelled to Nyon to attend the final and hailed the work that is done in the club's academy.
"The youth academy is very important to us," the president noted.
"They encourage us to continue emphasising on something we have always believed in, our youth academy."

I wonder why people say Madrid is ungrateful to players but the same players keep coming back to help the team. Shame to all haters. Hala Madrid. Welcome back, Ike casillas
