Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico, Sevilla: remaining matches

As the LaLiga Santander title race hots up to unforeseen levels, we consider the games left for each of the four contenders. It's going to the wire.

As has been commonplace for much of this season, results didn't all go as expected in LaLiga Santander. On Saturday we witnessed Champions League semi-finalists Real Madrid failing to score at home to Betis and throwing away two points. Then on Sunday both Sevilla and Barcelona were victorious by 2-1 before apparent runaway leaders Atlético Madrid fell to Athletic Bilbao by the same scoreline.

If there weren't any doubts before this weekend, there certainly are now.

Real Madrid, Barça, Atlético, Sevilla: LaLiga run-in

Those latest results mean that Atlético remain top of the pile but, for the first time in several months, Barça's game in hand would take them a point ahead. The title is in the hands of both those side, however, as they meet at the Camp Nou in a couple of weeks, and the narrative is likely to put that as the deciding game. We've also got a meeting in the capital of the other two contenders that weekend.

Then again, we've seen so many surprises of late that no team is guaranteed three points. Let's have a look at the remaining games...
