Real Madrid TV: Referees fail to protect Vinicius, something that would never happen to Barcelona

Spanish football was shaken by the severe penalty against Vinicius Jr. (a four-match ban), and Real Madrid TV responded forcefully during its pre-match program for the Real Madrid vs. Roma game.

"Now, with this Vinicius issue, let the war begin," Real Madrid TV's commentary opened. The club's television channel's criticism extended beyond the refereeing body to the upper echelons of Spanish football administration. The Real Madrid TV studio explicitly criticized the media, accusing "many outlets of being subsidized by Mr. Tebas," and reiterated Florentino Pérez's longstanding concerns about where these subsidies are directed and how much is allocated.

With clear sarcasm, the commentators questioned whether the media outlets receiving financial support were the same ones systematically accusing "Real Madrid of playing poorly," while ignoring the alleged institutional persecution the team faced. They concluded bitterly: "This team has to fight against all of this in Spanish competitions... it's a different story there."

In a pointed comparison, they asserted that in Europe, "aggression against Vinicius is not tolerated like in Spanish competitions, and even when it occurs, it receives proper punishment," emphasizing that under UEFA's jurisdiction, "there is no bias." The distrust of Spanish referees reached such a level that Real Madrid TV sarcastically expressed relief that European competition rules prevent Spanish referees from officiating Real Madrid matches, stating: "If Spanish referees could officiate Real Madrid in this competition... that would be catastrophic."

Furthermore, the studio asserted that Vinicius Jr. "is poorly protected compared to other star players," raising suspicions with a pointed jab at their rivals: "I cannot imagine such a thing happening to Barcelona."
