Real Madrid TV's attack on referees

Real Madrid's official TV channel are not happy with the referees who have been assigned to officiate their last game of the season against Villarreal on Saturday.

For the duel that will take place at 18:00 CEST at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano, Jose Luis Munuera Montero and Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea will be in charge on the pitch and in the VAR room respectively,

The last Real Madrid game officiated by Munuera Montero was their 3-1 victory away at Eibar this season, but the Andalusian referee had previously frustrated Los Blancos after refusing to award a penalty on Vinicius in a game against Real Sociedad in 2019. That led to the famous VAR audio recording from Mario Melero Lopez as he said "todo okay Jose Luis", meaning "all okay Jose Luis", to his on-pitch colleague after Vinicius hit the deck.

"Carlos Velasco Carballo has already turned on the machinery for the last round, with Jose Luis Munuera Montero on the field and Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea in the VAR," said a clip published on Real Madrid TV, who are not happy about the appointments.

"They will referee the Real Madrid vs Villarreal game in which LaLiga will be at stake."

Real Madrid's official TV channel also reminded fans of a Munuera Montero gesture that was considered as a celebration after VAR confirmed that an Eibar goal in a 3-0 win against Los Blancos should stand, while they pointed to some of De Burgos Bengoetxea's decisions in a Supercopa de Espana Clasico match at the Camp Nou.

"Jose Luis 'Todo Okay' Munuera and 'Anti-Madridista' De Burgos," the clip said, describing the men who will be in charge of Real Madrid's game this weekend.

The clip also criticised the appointment of Jose Maria Sanchez Martinez as the referee for the Real Valladolid vs Atletico Madrid game, claiming that he has helped Atleti this season.
