Real Madrid are set to face Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals, almost a year after Thomas Tuchel's side knocked Los Blancos out in Europe.
The two sides faced each other in the Champions League for the first time in their history last season, with the match-up coming in the semi-finals, and Real Madrid now have the opportunity to take revenge on the Premier League side.
Chelsea at the Bernabeu
This will be the first time Chelsea have played a game at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, as last season's semi-final took place at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano. The two sides also faced each other in the 1998 UEFA Super Cup final in Monaco, where Chelsea grabbed a 1-0 win, and in the 1970/71 Cup Winners' Cup final, where both the first game (1-1) and the replay (2-1 for Chelsea) took place in Athens.
Jon Prada analysing Chelsea
Russia's invasion of Ukraine has plunged Chelsea into chaos, as Roman Abramovich's assets have been frozen and the potential sale of the club has been brough to a halt.
The reigning Champions League winners have kept 22 clean sheets in 47 games this season, conceding 1.1 goals per match compared to the 0.5 goals per duel ratio they registered under Tuchel in last campaign.
However, they've improved in attack as they are scoring 2.5 times per match compared to last season's 1.2 goals per game.
They are currently sitting third in the Premier League table, 11 points behind leaders Manchester City, with one game in hand.
Chelsea lost to Liverpool on penalties in the Carabao Cup final back in February, but they are still competing for the FA Cup, where they will face Middlesbrough in the quarter-finals.
Summer signing Romelu Lukaku returned to the Blues in exchange for 101.7 million pounds, but he has struggled to establish himself into the starting line-up.
Tuchel is instead opting to play forward Kai Havertz, who netted the winning goal in last year's Champions League final, as well as the Club World Cup final. Havertz and Lukaku are Chelsea's top scorers with 11 goals.

The reining Champions are always the favorites but this is UCL and anything is possible specially when it’s Madrid favorite competition. If favorites win this competition Bayern, City and PSG might have won 3-4 UCLs in the last 5 seasons. I believe in my Real Madrid and its time to fight for our 14th. Let’s go Madrid! ❤️🏆⚽️🔥
