Real Madrid have no intention of listening to offers for Tchouameni this summer

Real Madrid have no interest in selling Liverpool target Aurelien Tchouameni this summer, according to reports.

Tchouameni snubbed the Reds to join Carlo Ancelotti's side last summer, but his first year in the Spanish capital has not gone according to plan.

The French international has slipped down the pecking order in recent months, finding himself behind fellow countryman Eduardo Camavinga and experienced duo Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

This has led to Liverpool renewing their interest in Tchouameni as they look to bolster their midfield, and it was recently reported that they are preparing a £70m bid for him in the summer.

That potential offer is set to fall on deaf ears, though, as the Spanish giants have no intention of letting Tchouameni go, as reported by AS.

Madrid believe Tchouameni's indifferent form can be attributed to him adapting to his new club.

This is not uncommon at the Bernabeu as Modric, who won the Ballon d'Or in 2018, was voted the worst signing of the season in his first year at the club in 2012 before going on to become a modern-day great.

Madrid remain confident Tchouameni will come good in time, and are prepared to be patient with the holding midfielder to help him return to the level he reached at Monaco prior to moving to LaLiga.

This news is a blow for Liverpool who face a major rebuild at the end of the season after a disappointing campaign.

The team's midfield has received plenty of criticism this season and Jurgen Klopp is expected to demand that multiple players in this area of the pitch are added to his squad ahead of next term.

But Liverpool have pulled out of the race to sign Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham due to his lofty price-tag as they focus on spending big on the overall squad rather than one player.

They now look set to miss out on Tchouameni again as well, leaving them to focus on alternative targets in the market to turn their fortunes around next season.
