When Real Madrid signed Andriy Lunin last summer, they acquired one of the world's most promising goalkeepers and the strategy was clear: Thibaut Courtois would be the starter in 2018/19 and Lunin, after a season-long loan, would be the Belgian's substitute in 2019/20.
Madrid beat the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United to his signature and Lunin, who had already been capped by Ukraine at the age of 19, would not have expected his first six months in Spain to have gone the way that they have.
He joined Leganes in the hope of gaining some LaLiga Santander experience and the assumption was that he would play ahead of Ivan Cuellar; instead, Lunin was selected as the Copa del Rey goalkeeper and has started just one league match.
In the first round of the Copa del Rey, Lunin was the hero for Leganes as he saved a penalty against Rayo Vallecano, though the goalkeeper now has another problem: Leganes will face Madrid in the next round so he will be unable to play, and it is highly unlikely that Los Pepineros will knock out Los Blancos for the second year in a row.
As a result, unless things change drastically, the Ukrainian will return to Valdebebas without having played a minute in the first half of 2019 and Madrid are frustrated with the situation as he will have played just 94 minutes in LaLiga Santander under Mauricio Pellegrino.
There are now doubts at Madrid about what to do next year as the initial plan was for Lunin to replace Keylor Navas as the understudy to Courtois, but it is a risk to have such an inexperienced goalkeeper on the bench.
Some at the club believe that another loan spell is necessary, to a different club this time, while others think that it is necessary to put more faith in him.
Madrid have until June 30 to decide how to they want to proceed as it is still important that Lunin reaches his potential as he still has a future at the club, but it remains to be seen whether that will be next year or not.

Keylor Navas is unhappy and might leave, so I say sell k. Navas and kiko casillas and make Lunin 2nd choice

Real Madrid had to give it to a team that guaranteed that the boy was going to play. The little that has been seen is that it is a porterazo of those who marked epoch. But sit watching the games from the bench, there is a risk of cutting their progression. In short, let's hope that Keylor gets out of a damn time (that here he does not paint anything), and Lunin can go back to the one that is his club, because to dispute only the Cup, for that he stays with us.

García Ochoa and other uninformed players: El Leganés has an economic penalty if LUnin does not play a long number of matches, since it was Leganés himself who requested the transfer of Lunin, that is why those punitive conditions were imposed if he did not play, conditions that the Leganés accepted. Madrid is seriously considering taking him out of Leganes, to transfer him to another team, which will guarantee him minutes. It is the second article that the signer of this publishes in a few days, with an evident disinformation or misrepresentation of the facts. I do not know what this man wants

I think that Madrid must repescarlo and give it to another club, but this time with guarantees of ownership until the end of the season. With an economic penalty that prevents the kid from playing.

It is a shame that you give up a player to play and not put a minute ... should include a clause that penalized Leganés that lack of minutes because that would have yielded to espanyol or lightning or anyone who needs a porter

And Casilla and Luca?

No man's land, darkness without a fixed course, you will have to pay. The most probable thing is that you believe only in yourself, in your own strength.

This player belongs to Madrid and is the one that takes care of a large part of the card and under the terms of transfer, the clubs agreed the clause not to face the club that pays him. I do not see the problem

19 years, the rest won. Well, he does not have time. Well, in Spain, no. Here we know so much that with those years we already know their future.

And what has to do with the clause of fear that Leganés does not give him the minutes that he promised so much to Madrid that he would have ?? What Madrid has to do is cross off the list to Leganés for possible future assignments.
