As time goes by and with less than three weeks until, in theory, the Clasico is played, no-one dares to guarantee security for the fixture.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are still yet to receive any official communication from the security forces which suggest that nothing would prevent the game from taking place, a major fear ahead of the fixture on December 18 at the Camp Nou.
At the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, there is a growing sense of unease as has been revealed to MARCA.
The club's contact with the National Police and Mossos has taken place but the situation suggests that there has been no solution found to prevent the kind of threats which led to the postponement of the original game on October 26.
Meetings continue to try to ensure that the game can go ahead as planned, though there are ongoing political and legal cases which have a strong social influence.
The files of the so called 'Tsunami Democratic' are now with Spanish security services, which puts their plans at stake, including plans to unfurl a flag calling for dialogue at the Camp Nou.
The local Catalan government has not yet made any statement and much will depend on their attitude towards any protests, though they have stayed quiet for now and that is fuelling uncertainty.
Real Madrid continue to stick with their plan of staying at a hotel only 800 metres from the Camp Nou, although they will not spend the night in Barcelona given the 20:00 kick off time, instead arriving and returning on the same day.
The fears surround the team's arrival at the stadium and the measures that protesters could take, such as blocking roads and motorways in Barcelona, with security forces overpowered.
The entrance and exit routes around Camp Nou would have to be emptied in order to guarantee the safety of Real Madrid players.
This could lead to a similar approach as the one taken for the Copa Libertadores final in Madrid when the security cordon was widened to allow greater freedom.
An alternative would be to keep one lane of traffic free, as is the case when Olympic Games take place or there are state visits.
Within the stadium, where Barcelona are responsible for security, both clubs seem more confident.
