Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have enjoyed their fair share of success in the UEFA Super Cup.

Real Madrid will be favourites to beat Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Super Cup final on Thursday.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side exceeded all expectations last season, winning the Champions League and La Liga titles, and have added more quality to the squad over the summer.
Aurélien Tchouaméni and Antonio Rüdiger have joined an already strong squad ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. Madrid’s players, hungry from their recent success, will be hoping to pick up their first silverware of the season with a win over Eintracht Frankfurt in Helsinki.
The German side convincingly beat Xavi’s Barça in the Europa League earlier this year, and despite Madrid’s recent success, they will fancy their chances in a one-off match against Los Blancos.
Barcelona’s well-documented financial issues have not stopped the Blaugrana from making big signings over the summer in a bid to topple their rivals Madrid.
Both clubs have enjoyed their fair share of success in the UEFA Super Cup. Against Frankfurt, Madrid will have the chance to become the Super Cup’s joint-most successful club. Los Blancos have lifted the trophy on four occasions, one fewer than Barcelona.
Madrid’s most recent Super Cup success came against cross-city rivals Atlético Madrid in 2017, when they beat Manchester United 2-1. Barça last lifted the trophy in 2015, winning 5-4 after extra time against fellow La Liga side Sevilla.
