Real Madrid pays tribute to Puskás in Budapest

According to the Real Madrid official website, a grand commemorative ceremony was held for Puskás at St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest before Real Madrid's preseason match against Ferencváros TC.

Real Madrid club representatives José Ángel Sánchez and Roberto Carlos attended the event organized by the Puskás Academy and laid a wreath at the burial site of the Real Madrid legend. Balázs Tóth, CEO of the Puskás Academy, Pál Oroszi, CEO of Ferencváros TC, and László Juhász, Vice President of the Hungarian Football Federation, also attended the ceremony.

Puskás played for Real Madrid from 1958 to 1966, becoming one of the greatest forwards in the history of the club and world football. He formed a formidable attacking line with Di Stéfano, Kopa, Rial, and Gento during Real Madrid's most successful period. During his time at Real Madrid, he won 3 European Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 5 La Liga titles, and 1 Copa del Rey, scoring 242 goals in 262 appearances.
