Real Madrid player Endrick ready to listen to offers

For Endrick, just 19 years old, things are already clear: he is not part of Xabi Alonso’s plans for this season.

According to sources close to the player, AS reports that his representatives have been given the green light to start listening to loan offers ahead of the winter transfer window. This doesn’t mean Endrick has given up on his dream of earning a place at Real Madrid this season, but it does mean he and his team have started exploring exit options in case his situation doesn’t change before the market opens.

The forward is, along with Mendy, the only outfield player yet to be used by Xabi Alonso. He has been available for seven of Madrid’s twelve matches since returning from injury.

Endrick is expected to prioritize offers from clubs outside Spain. He still sees his long-term future at Real Madrid and would prefer not to play for another team in La Liga. That’s the initial idea, although nothing is set in stone—it all depends on which clubs come forward. Above all, he wants regular playing time, fully aware that he’ll have to earn his place wherever he goes. Even without Champions League football, he sees consistent minutes as the best way to showcase himself.

The situation has become increasingly difficult for the young player, for whom Real Madrid paid $40 million (plus another possible $30 million in bonuses that now seem unlikely to be met) two years ago. Back then, Endrick hadn’t even turned 18 and was already breaking records in Brazil—winning two consecutive Brasileirões with Palmeiras and making history with the national team.

In 2023, he became the fourth-youngest player ever to debut for Brazil, at 17 years, 3 months, and 26 days, and the fifth-youngest to score, at 17 years, 8 months, and 2 days. His goals against England at Wembley and Spain at the Bernabéu made him a key figure for the Seleção, earning him a spot in the Copa América squad. But rather than accelerating his progress, his move to Madrid seems to have slowed it down.

One of the main reasons Endrick is pushing for a loan in January is to boost his chances of making Brazil’s squad for the next World Cup. The tournament is a crucial goal for him—both for his development and because his main sponsor, New Balance, is based in the United States. Under Ancelotti last season, at just 18 years old, he managed seven goals in only 840 minutes, finishing as Madrid’s top scorer in the Copa del Rey with five.

Real Madrid’s recent decision to hand Gonzalo a professional contract after his impressive showing at the Club World Cup—where he scored four goals—was a warning sign for Endrick. He realized then that he would have to compete for the few minutes not taken by Mbappé. What he didn’t expect was to find himself completely sidelined at this point in the season.

Since becoming eligible to play on September 20 against Espanyol, Gonzalo has featured in four of seven matches, starting once and logging a total of 106 minutes across eight appearances. Given Xabi Alonso’s clear preferences in attack, Endrick’s camp is now seriously considering a winter loan move.
