Spanish radio station Cadena SER says that Real Madrid are preparing to register a women's team in the RFEF's new league competition.

Real Madrid are getting ready to register a team in the Spain Football Federation's (RFEF) planned new women's football league, the radio station Cadena SER has reported. It would be the first team of its kind in the LaLiga giants' 117-year history.
According to Cadena SER, the creation of a women's side has already been decided upon at the Bernabéu, but it is not clear whether it will be put in place in time for next season, which is set to be the opening campaign of the RFEF's new league.
Announced by the RFEF this week, the competition will exist as an alternative to the current elite division of women's football in Spain, the Liga Iberdrola, and will comprise a 16-team top division, and a second tier divided into groups and featuring a maximum of 32 sides.
Asked about the possible inclusion of a Real Madrid women's team in the league, RFEF secretary general Andreu Camps said that Spanish football's governing body "is due to meet with every club wishing to join."
