Real Madrid are pausing all transfer activity until June including a decision on veteran striker Joselu Mato.
Los Blancos are certain to strengthen in the coming months with the expected arrival of Kylian Mbappe edging closer in the Spanish capital.
Mbappe will be the big name addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s attack but the Italian coach wants to fill gaps across his squad.
Real Madrid completed a pragmatic loan deal to bring in Joselu at the start of 2023/24 after he netted 16 La Liga goals last season as Espanyol were relegated.
The Spanish international’s agreement with Espanyol allowed him to leave on loan, if they were relegated, with a €1.5m purchase option included in the deal.
The 34-year-old has chipped in with 14 goals this season, including eight in league action, and Ancelotti is happy to keep him.
As per the latest from Relevo, Real Madrid will wait to see if Espanyol secure promotion back to the top flight, as failure to do so would activate another loan condition for Joselu.

Mbappe is coming they will not keep Joselu, Madrid is good and swift at parting way with players they don’t need.
