Over half of Real Madrid's squad have tested positive for the virus; Marcelo and Modric are the latest members. New cases could be announced today.
Covid-19 continues to affect the Real Madrid dressing room. Luka Modric and Marcelo have tested positive in recent hours and the club could announce further cases on Thursday, according to Cadena Cope. Fourteen of the 25 members of the current squad have tested positive for the virus at one stage or another. In addition to the Croatian and the Brazilian, Mariano, Kroos, Militao, Casemiro, Hazard, Jovic, Nacho, Valverde, Benzema, Lunin, Alaba and Vallejo have all tested positive since the outbreak of the disease.
That leaves just 11 Madrid players who have not been hit by covid-19: Courtois, Carvajal, Mendy, Lucas Vázquez, Ceballos, Isco, Camavinga, Asensio, Bale, Vinicius and Rodrygo. At one point, Isco had to withdraw from a training session with fever, but it was eventually confirmed that it was not covid-19 and he did not have to be confined. It is also possible that some players may have passed on the infection without knowing it, throughout the various waves that have followed.
Club affected from top to bottom
Former Madrid captain Sergio Ramos and current Manchester United defender Raphaël Varane both tested positive for the disease as Real Madrid players last season, as did Zinedine Zidane, who had to be replaced by his number two, David Bettoni, for a few matches. Club president Florentino Pérez also tested positive, in February 2021.

My heart almost broke when I saw "14 of the 25 members". I thought this time they had 14 players infected and that’s more than half of the squad.💔
