According to Cadena SER, Real Madrid's squad is expected to undergo a major overhaul, with Mourinho requesting the signings of Vitinha and Matheus Fernandes.

Reports indicate that Mourinho's appointment as Real Madrid coach has become a reality. Although an official announcement has not yet been made, Benfica confirmed this Tuesday that the CMVM (Portuguese Securities Market Commission) approved the deal, with Real Madrid set to pay a €15 million release clause for the Portuguese coach. Thus, Mourinho's second spell in the Bernabéu dugout has begun.

In fact, after the announcement of Arbeloa's departure, the club had its first meeting with the Portuguese coach. Currently, Arbeloa will not hold any position at the club.

A four-way meeting, lasting several hours, was held at a hotel near Castellana Avenue. Attendees included Mourinho himself, his agent Jorge Mendes, and two influential Real Madrid executives – José Ángel Sánchez and Juni Calafat.

The meeting discussed the preliminary planning for the 2026-27 season and Mourinho's requests for squad reinforcements. The Portuguese coach specifically asked to sign Vitinha, a deal that is extremely difficult; he also expressed interest in Matheus Fernandes, which is relatively easier.

Real Madrid has sufficient funds for significant signings. If these two deals are ultimately completed, they will join the list of signings promised during Florentino's campaign.

Konaté and Dumfries will be officially announced after they complete their respective World Cup campaigns. French center-back Konaté will join as a free agent after his contract with Liverpool expires, while Inter Milan's Dutch wing-back Dumfries will become a Real Madrid player after a €20 million release clause is paid. He himself had previously confirmed this news in some way via social media.

At least for now, Julián Álvarez will not be wearing a Real Madrid jersey. It was finally confirmed that he was the player Florentino previously mentioned on the show who received a €150 million offer. Atlético Madrid rejected the bid.

However, it is currently uncertain whether the Argentine forward will remain at the Cívitas Metropolitano at the start of the new season. The transfer battle for Álvarez is not over, even if Real Madrid is no longer involved.

The Real Madrid dressing room will undergo a major shake-up: Gonzalo García, Camavinga, Fran García, Mastantuono, and even Brahim could be sold in the first phase, or at least be clearly told that they are not a priority in Mourinho's plans.

Thus, the Mourinho 2.0 era has officially begun at Real Madrid. Incidentally, Mourinho already bid farewell to Benfica on Wednesday, so an official announcement regarding his return to Real Madrid and the date of his presentation press conference are expected very soon.
