Real Madrid stars train at Valdebebas ahead of Alaves clash

Real Madrid trained at their Valdebebas base on Friday morning as they look to end their longest run without a goal in 11 years this weekend.

The Champions League holders made it three games without hitting the back of the net on Tuesday when they slumped to a shock 1-0 defeat away to CSKA Moscow.

And with the unwanted record hanging over their necks, focus in training this week will no doubt have centred on quickly getting back to scoring ways.

A host of first-team stars, including Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos, took part in the session as manager Julen Lopetegui honed his plans for the trip to Alaves on Saturday evening.

Bale, who has been declared fit after sustaining an injury in the 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid last weekend, was all smiles as he shared a joke with fellow first-teamer Casemiro.

Keen competitor Sergio Ramos meanwhile, was seen sprinting for a ball with midfielder Toni Kroos as part of a speed drill.

Youngster Vinicius Junior - a £38m signing from Flamengo this summer - was also part of the session, which featured a mixture of conditioning and technical work.

Coming off the back of defeats to both Sevilla and CSKA as well as last weekend's Madrid derby draw, pressure is already starting to mount on new coach Lopetegui.

But the former Spain manager remains unconcerned despite the dip in form, suggesting bad luck has also played a factor in recent weeks.

'This is Real Madrid, the most important thing is how we feel. We know that problems will come and we have to be able to overcome them,' he told a press conference on Friday.

'We have to focus on the positives. Everyone always demands the most from us, you have to take that on with normality.

'The focus is right, we have the same points as the league leaders (Barcelona), and in the Champions League we know we'll continue the same path as we saw against Roma.

'We certainly dropped three points against CSKA Moscow but we were unlucky.

'Now we focus on Alaves, a team that haven't lost in six matches and will be in front of their own fans.'

After the trip to the Basque Country this weekend, Real face Levante and Plzen at home before an away Clasico at the Nou Camp on October 28.
