The fallout of Sunday night's El Clasico makes for grim reading if you're affiliated with Real Madrid after the Spanish media stuck the boot into them on Monday.
Real were thumped 4-0 at home by eternal rivals Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice alongside strikes from Ronald Araujo and Ferran Torres.
Real still sit nine points clear at the top of the LaLiga standings but that hasn't spared them the wrath of the media after their embarrassing display.
AS didn't hold back in their criticism as they lead with the headline 'black night' with a dejected Luka Modric and Toni Kroos dejected.
They add that Barcelona 'destroyed' the 'worst' Real Madrid imagined with manager Carlo Ancelotti accepting the blame for the defeat on his shoulders.
Marca liken the loss to a 'a slap that hurts' as their front cover headline as they state that Barca cruised by an unrecognisable Real.
They note that Los Blancos were missing talisman and star striker Karim Benzema with Ancelotti's tactic of resolving that issue not working.
Ancelotti tried to replace the injured Frenchman by deploying deep-lying playmaker Modric as a false No 9 - a decision that backfired spectacularly.
'We searched for more control of the ball, to press higher, but after the goal, the 1-0, we haven't gone to plan and they have damaged us,' the Italian explained.
'The plan has not been good. Barca have played better and have deserved to win, but the defeat does not sink us.
'One has to look forward and have balance, to think that we have a nine-point advantage.'
The mood of Madrid-based publications Marca and AS is in stark contrast to Catalan-based paper Mundo Deportivo - who hail Barca.
Speaking of the Nou Camp outfit's performance they say that produced an 'exhibition' and 'crushed' Real.
They add that it was 'a total humiliation with a total domination, breaking the bad streak of the last three years'.
The win sees Barca remain third in LaLiga - 12 points behind Real Madrid.
