Real Madrid tops La Liga squad costs at €909.5M, Barcelona at €489.5M, Málaga lowest at €680K

After the transfer window closed, Transfermarkt compiled the squad building costs for the 20 La Liga teams. Squad building cost refers to the transfer fees spent by a team to assemble its current roster.

Real Madrid spent €909.5 million in transfer fees to build its current squad, the highest in La Liga, followed by Barcelona's €489.5 million. Barcelona's lower spending is partly due to their squad featuring many academy graduates. Málaga spent the least, with their current squad mainly composed of free transfers and loans, totaling only €680,000.
