Real Madrid's magic triangle of Casemiro-Kroos-Modric returns to rule the roost

Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have formed a magic triangle in Real Madrid's midfield, and they're once again in control in LaLiga Santander and the Champions League.

In a decisive week, the three have shown their best form on a collective and individual level, leading Madrid to three impressive wins.

"They're at the level they were at when we won three Champions Leagues in a row," Zinedine Zidane said of his midfielders.

Until the game away at Sevilla, Casemiro, Kroos and Modric had only featured in Real Madrid's XI once. Zidane had been rotating and turning to Martin Odegaard, Fede Valverde and Isco when mixing things up.

The three who ruled Europe for so long barely coincided on the pitch, at least until the other midfielders fell along the way. Valverde was the first to fall, away at Mestalla, and then it was Odegaard. Isco was tried, but he is out form and barely counted on.

With the old trio back, Real Madrid have looked back to their best, and the three old boys demand respect.

Kroos and Modric offer another lesson

Luka Modric said that he needed to play more minutes in order to get back to his best. He was in and out of the team and suffering as a result, but now he's finding regularity in the XI and he's unstoppable, resembling his form from his Ballon d'Or winning year.

Kroos, for his part, is running like clockwork again. He doesn't lose the ball in midfield, and he's able to spray long passes or keep them short and simple.

Then there's Casemiro. He didn't play against Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid lost 2-0. Since he's returned with Kroos and Modric, Madrid have kept clean sheets and worked perfectly.

Sevilla, Borussia Monchengladbach and Atletico Madrid fell victim to the three.
