The final match of the 2020/21 LaLiga Santander season against Villarreal on May 22 could prove to be the last for Real Madrid at the Estadio Di Stefano, should they move to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano before returning to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Despite the many doubts about their adaptation to a stadium that is so different to the Bernabeu, the period at Valdebebas has been a successful one.
Los Blancos have played 31 games in all competitions at the Di Stefano, with 23 wins, four draws and four defeats. Of all the victories, the one against Villarreal on June 14, 2020, that clinched the title was the most special.
A good average
The 'spirit of Di Stefano' will go down in the club's history given their incredible league comeback. After lockdown, Los Blancos claimed 10 consecutive wins, six of which came at Valdebebas.
This past season has seen Real Madrid lose four times at the Di Stefano, but it is still line with win percentages of previous seasons at the Bernabeu.
The previous campaign ended with a win percentage of 68 percent - the best since the 2016/17 season, where they achieved 75 percent.
Unsurprisingly, Karim Benzema is the top scorer at the Di Stefano with 22 goals, followed by Marco Asensio with eight.
The Di Stefano will once again be the home of Real Madrid Castilla, the club's reserve side, next season.
