Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid: Probable line-ups and match stats

  /  Cai

Real Madrid play the final away game of what has been a disappointing La Liga season on Sunday afternoon at the Estadio Anoeta.

Zinedine Zidane's men have failed to win any of their last four matches on the road and they face a Real Sociedad side who will be looking for a win to keep alive their faint European aspirations.

Team News

Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos have missed the last few weeks for Real Madrid and neither will be risked if they remain doubtful at the weekend. Full-back Alvaro Odriozola is also out for the side from the capital.

La Real are without David Zurutuza and Aritz Elustondo, while Asier Illarramendi is a doubt to face his former club, although Adnan Januzaj could return from injury.

Probable line-ups

Vinicius set to be handed starting role as Mariano will continue to start in Benzema's absence.

Odds

William Hill price La Real at 15/8 (2.87) to win their seventh home game of the season and the Basques recorded a famous 2-0 success at the Bernabeu when they faced Los Blancos back in January.

Preview

Real Madrid have failed to score in their last two away games, with a 0-0 stalemate at Champions League-chasing Getafe followed by a desperately disappointing 1-0 loss at now relegated Rayo Vallecano.

It has been clear that against motivated opposition, Los Blancos have struggled to reach the required levels of intensity thanks to the absences of their best attacking player in Benzema and inspirational captain Ramos.

La Real have been wildly unpredictable this term, winning at the Bernabeu as well as putting in an excellent performance at Camp Nou, but also failing to beat both of the bottom two clubs Rayo Vallecano and Huesca at home.

Whoscore predictions
