Refereeing change for Real Madrid's game against Real Sociedad

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have announced that Jose Luis Gonzalez hasn't passed his fitness tests and won't be referee Real Madrid's match against Real Sociedad.

The 45-year-old referee, who had muscle soreness, will be responsible for VAR and he will be replaced by Jesus Gil Manzano at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Sociedad fans were frustrated with RFEF's decision to assign Gonzalez Gonzalez to this particular game, due to his controversial refereeing in a game against Los Blancos in 2015.

In the aforementioned match, he awarded two penalties to Real Madrid, but didn't do the same in favour of La Real, who themselves had two claims.
