Stade de Reims faced Real Madrid in the 1959 European Cup final, losing 4-3, the same result that they suffered at the hands of their Spanish opponents three years earlier in the final.
The French side have paid homage to that final in 1959, which this season will be its 60th anniversary, with their third strip which they will use for the first time against Rennes on Sunday, October 28th.
The design takes the white of Real Madrid with maroon elements especially on the sides.

They would have to correct the data on the result. It was 2-0. Madrid with one player less because of Kopa's injury at 30 ', a missed penalty and a goal canceled for an indirect shot.

What I would have liked was that this had been done in a coordinated manner and the third team of Real Madrid would have done the same, with references to the French team. It would have been something very nice

A tribute is paid to that final because certain unhealthy heads that would have to be expelled from football and sports have been eager since ancient times to trample and vilify the history of football before 1992 and with it the history of many clubs such as the Stade de Reims or the Eintracht Frankfurt to give two examples. I know that both in Reims and part of Frankfurt the striped Blaugrana and synonymous with all the bad football.
