Report: How many years Mauricio Pochettino’s contract at Chelsea will last for

  /  Stamfordblue

Reports have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is set to sign a three-year contract as the new Chelsea manager.

According to TalkSPORT, the Argentine will be the recipient of a very different deal to the one offered to Graham Potter earlier this season.

The Englishman put pen to paper on a lengthy five-year deal in West London, however didn't even last the season at the helm.

More than a month on from the former Brighton boss being sacked at Stamford Bridge, the club finally look set to announce Pochettino as their permanent manager for next season.

Frank Lampard will remain in charge until the campaign comes to an end, as he prepares for three extremely tough matches to end the season.

The Blues could see Manchester City lift the title against them when they face them this weekend, before games against Champions League-chasing Manchester United and Newcastle United in the week after.

Pochettino signing three-year deal

The Argentine will no doubt be scrutinising the fixtures whatever the results in order to begin to work out which players he will look to shape his Chelsea side around next season.

It has already been claimed that he would love one of those players to be Mason Mount, with the Englishman's energetic playstyle perfect for what the 51-year-old wants in his players.

However, it may be too little too late for the manager's admiration, with reports stating it would take a miracle for the 24-year-old to stay at Stamford Bridge next season.

With Todd Boehly not keen for players to enter the last year of their contract, it is likely Mount will be sold this summer if an agreement can't be reached.

If this is the case, he will not be short of suitors to potentially bring him in as a key player.
