According to SER, 28-year-old Real Madrid defender Militao has relapsed his hamstring injury and will miss the World Cup. Cadena COPE also gave the same report.

Cadena SER stated that Militao will not be able to play for Real Madrid again this season because he has suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury. The scar has been worse, Militao will have to undergo surgery and miss the World Cup.

COPE reporter Miguel Ángel Díaz said that Militao will have to undergo surgery. His scar from last December was torn in the match against Celta Vigo, and he will miss the World Cup.

On April 23, Real Madrid officially announced that Militao was diagnosed with a hamstring muscle strain in his left leg. At that time, according to La Sexta reporter José Luis Sánchez, Militao would be out for the season, but could barely make it to the World Cup.

Militao made his debut for the Brazilian team in 2018 and participated in the 2019 Copa América, 2021 Copa América, and 2024 Copa América, winning 1 championship and 1 runner-up. In the 2022 World Cup, Militao played as Brazil's right-back 4 times, and the team stopped in the quarter-finals.
