According to reporter Jorge C Picon, Real Madrid prefer to keep Endrick in La Liga, while the player hopes to join a club participating in European competitions.

Jorge C Picon:

Endrick is in a tough spot.

Seven goals and one assist in 847 minutes were his stats last season. Figures that are worth nothing to him now: he hasn’t played a single minute this season. A 60-million-euro investment (+salary) brought to a screeching halt without any apparent reason.

The club is pushing for a move away. It’s striking because this is by no means the usual approach with such cases of large investments in emerging talents. Only Reinier experienced something similar in a much more complicated context, with the pandemic in the mix.

In Endrick’s camp, there’s frustration with Xabi Alonso and disbelief at the situation, convinced that with just a few minutes, the forward could turn the tide. It’s understandable after seven full matches on the bench while watching Mastantuono, the new arrival, become the coach’s golden boy. Now, a future far from the Bernabéu looms, even if it’s just a temporary stint.

Real Madrid prefers a move within Spain, so he can be more closely monitored, adaptation is easier, and, above all, he can secure dual nationality next summer (granted after two years). The player wants a club competing in European competitions, in a team that shines so Ancelotti will take him to the 2026 World Cup.

There are two months until January and about twenty matches until then. More than enough time for, as is often the case in football, a single goal to drastically change reality. But the investment in the forward of the future is now at risk.
