According to Goal.com, Spanish journalist Roberto Gomez criticized Barcelona's handling of the Alvarez transfer negotiations and questioned Real Madrid's decision to let Rodrygo go.
On Radio Marca's "La Tribu" program, Gomez praised Rodrygo's presentation as a new Barcelona signing. He noted that the Spanish winger revealed he had contact with Real Madrid officials before choosing to join Barcelona.
Gomez then stated: "I think Real Madrid made a serious mistake by letting Rodrygo go, because he could have greatly improved their attack."
Gomez also praised Rodrygo's abilities. He said: "He is a World Cup winner, an excellent player, and arguably one of the best. We have always admired his level, and we wish him good luck in his new phase."
Regarding Alvarez's situation, Gomez said that the Argentine forward has the right to decide his own future, but he severely criticized Barcelona's negotiation methods with Atletico Madrid.
Gomez further raised his tone. He said: "Barcelona operated behind Atletico Madrid's back, and in an extremely despicable manner... This is unacceptable in football."
The journalist also directly criticized Barcelona, calling their actions "arrogant," "conceited," and "superior."
In contrast, he praised Real Madrid president Florentino Perez's handling of the same incident, stating: "In this whole matter, the only person who did things correctly was Florentino Perez." According to him, "the Real Madrid president first spoke with Alvarez and then contacted Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo."

Get us Lautaro and Laporta. Let them keep Alvarez if they want. But they should know that we won’t forget how they treated us when they come for our player in future!
