According to the latest report from Samuel Luckhurst, Manchester United correspondent for The Sun, Manchester United has not ruled out making an offer for Alex Scott, despite AFC Bournemouth's asking price of up to £80 million.

It is reported that 22-year-old Alex Scott is Manchester United's top target in the Premier League. The British record transfer fees of £130 million for Anderson and £85 million for Matheus Fernandes have led Premier League clubs to increase the valuations of their coveted midfielders.

Scott has two years left on his contract with AFC Bournemouth, but he was called up by Tuchel last season and participated in the pre-World Cup training camp. Although Scott failed to make Tuchel's final 26-man squad, AFC Bournemouth is still insisting on a club-record transfer fee.

AFC Bournemouth is also eager to renew Scott's contract, and this new contract would almost certainly include a release clause. However, Manchester United has not officially given up on their interest in Scott. Tyler Adams has also been mentioned as a potential option for Manchester United, but they prefer Scott.

Tyler Adams will be 28 next season, while Manchester United prefers to sign players between 22 and 26 years old. Anderson is 23, and Matheus Fernandes will turn 22 this week.

Mourinho wants to keep Tchouameni. If he joins Manchester United, the transfer fee and salary for the French midfielder would be similar to Casemiro, who joined Manchester United in 2022 for a fixed transfer fee of £60 million and a weekly salary of £350,000.

Manchester United is daunted by the asking prices for Elliot Anderson and Matheus Fernandes, and after Casemiro and Sancho's departures, they are determined to cut wage expenditure. Rashford, with a weekly salary of up to £325,000, has been put on the transfer list.

With Mainoo still representing England in international matches, Carrick may be without an experienced midfielder for at least half of the six preseason games. Ugarte suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear and will miss the rest of the year.
