Riqui Puig insisted on staying at Barcelona and not going out on loan. He thinks in Blaugrana, it's in his DNA, and he sees himself reflected in Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta, club legends.
The youngster received the prize for the player with the most potential at the Catalan Football Federation awards, which took place on Tuesday. Gerard Lopez, Catalonia's coach gave him the award.
"If I'm here it's a good sign," said Riqui Puig. "It's true that the esteem and love of Barcelona fans I can feel. There are two factors which make me stay more, one is being from here, Matadepera, and the other is having the DNA that makes this club unique.
"My reference points are Xavi and Iniesta. They had patience and conscience. I have to wait to have the opportunity."
