Barcelona officially announced the signing of Spanish midfielder Rodri from Manchester City.
In the summer of 2019, Rodri joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid for a transfer fee of 70 million euros. Since then, he has made a total of 298 appearances for the team, scoring 28 goals, during which he helped Manchester City win 14 major trophies.
During his time at Manchester City, Rodri helped the team win 4 Premier League titles, 3 League Cups, 2 FA Cups, 2 Community Shields, 1 Champions League title, 1 UEFA Super Cup, and 1 Club World Cup.
In the 2022-23 Champions League final in Istanbul, Manchester City faced Inter Milan, and Rodri scored the decisive and only goal of the match, helping Manchester City secure their first Champions League title in history and a historic treble.
Subsequently, Rodri achieved the highest honor in 2024, becoming the first player in Manchester City's history to win the Ballon d'Or – the most prestigious individual award in global football.
