On Monday, Ronaldo Nazario will officially become the new owner of Real Valladolid.

For some time, the Brazilian has harboured the ambition of moving into the management side of things for a football club, and a deal for him to do so has been finalised for an amount approaching 30 million euros.

Negotiations with Carlos Suarez have already been concluded and the agreement has been completed, with the former owner set to retain an important role in the strategic decisions of the club.

Ronaldo wasn't the only interested party, however, as a Mexican business consortium were close to reaching an agreement with Suarez but there was a difference in opinion over the position of the current hierarchy once the purchase was complete.

Currently, Ronaldo is an ambassador for Real Madrid and works closely with the club's charitable foundation among various other corporate acts.

Last Thursday, he was also presented as an ambassador for Santander Bank in the Champions League.

Newly promoted Real Valladolid currently have a debt of roughly 25 million euros and have been seeking a sale for several years, so the appearance of the former Ballon d'Or winner on the scene has been decisive in convincing them to conclude a deal.

It has been a long negotiation which wasn't always easy, having begun in the middle of May, but all of the detail has now finally been wrapped up.
