Cristiano Ronaldo looked in good spirits as he showed off his fancy footwork in training ahead of Manchester United's Carabao Cup tie with Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Thursday.

The 37-year-old has endured a difficult campaign to date for United, starting just four league games for Erik Ten Hag's side, and he was recently left out of the squad for his side's trip to Chelsea after leaving the bench early to walk down the tunnel against Tottenham.
Ronaldo has been welcomed back into the fold since then, though, and captained United in their 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Red Devils will get the chance for revenge just four days after that loss, and Ronaldo appeared in a relaxed mood prior to the game, with United releasing footage on Twitter of the Portuguese star flicking the ball up in the air and performing ball-juggling skills in training in front of his onlooking team-mates.
In recent years, Ronaldo has become known for his lethal finishing in front of goal, but his skills in training highlighted he still possesses the flair that lit up Old Trafford when he first arrived in England almost two decades ago.
It has been some turnaround for Ronaldo, who asked to leave United in the summer but failed to get a move away.
His relationship with Ten Hag has also seemed strained at times as he was an unused substitute against Manchester City and Spurs, leading to him leaving Old Trafford prematurely on the latter occasion.
He has worked his way back into the mix, though, and after insisting that he is committed to United last month, he appears to be enjoying himself at the club once more.
As well as potentially playing against Villa, Ronaldo will also expect to hear good news off the pitch as he is almost certain to be named in Portugal's World Cup squad on Thursday.
Ronaldo is the leading all-time men's goalscorer in international football, with 117 goals in 191 appearances, and is set to lead his country at his fifth World Cup.
Ronaldo made the semi-finals of the tournament with Portugal in 2006, but has not gone past the quarter-finals in the three editions since.
He will be aiming to captain his side to glory in Qatar, with Portugal kicking off their campaign against Ghana on November 24, before facing Uruguay and South Korea in Group H.
