According to SER, Spanish football will not be able to avoid the major concern that continues to escalate domestically. The collision of two trains in Urdá, Toledo province, remains shocking; these two trains were traveling between Madrid and Andalusia. The Spanish Football Federation has urgently responded to the Copa del Rey matchday, which was scheduled to take place just hours later. All 24 Copa del Rey matches scheduled for this Wednesday have been suspended, awaiting rescheduling.

Given the seriousness of the situation, the Spanish Football Federation made this decision after holding a special meeting. This comprehensive suspension affects all remaining matches of the first round of the Copa del Rey—the first 18 matches were played on Tuesday—and although there was speculation that Thursday's matches would also be postponed, these matches are still awaiting a final decision, which will be announced in the coming hours.

The affected travel schedules have also directly disrupted the plans of several clubs, most notably the Navalcarnero vs. Real Betis match, originally scheduled for Wednesday evening in Madrid. Although the Real Betis first team was planning to travel by plane, several members of the management team were also affected by the suspension of this rail line.
