Franck Kessie scored twice to see off SPAL but AC Milan fell agonisingly short of squeezing into Serie A's top four on the final day.

5' Piatek’s powerful strike stopped
Excellent stop by Viviano to deny Piatek! The striker was played through on goal by Suso and only had the keeper to beat from a tight angle, but Viviano got down well and made the save, putting the ball out of play for a corner.
18' GOAL! SPAL 0-1 Milan (Calhanoglu)
Calhanoglu fires the visitors ahead and puts them into the Champions League places for now. Kessie gets forward down the left wing, he gets to the byline and pulls the ball back to Calhanoglu on the edge of the box, who slides it into the bottom corner of the net, just out of the reach of Viviano.
23' GOAL! SPAL 0-2 Milan (Kessie)
Kessie was the provider for the first and now he has scored the second! Superb move and finish from the midfielder, who showed great feet in the box to shift the ball away from his marker and then power it into the top corner.
28' GOAL! SPAL 1-2 Milan (Vicari)
Vicari rises highest in the box as Murgia whips the free-kick into the penalty area, the defender flicks the ball on and it flies straight into the far corner of the net.
53' GOAL! SPAL 2-2 Milan (Fares)
Fares gets away from his marker in the box and powers his header into the back of the net, past the diving Reina. Poor defending by Milan, who should've learnt from their mistakes, after letting Fares in at the back post just a few minutes earlier.
66' Penalty Goal! SPAL 2-3 Milan (Kessie)
Kessie converts from the penalty spot and Milan are back in the lead, it's 3-2! The midfielder steps up to take the penalty and cooly converts the spot-kick, sending the keeper the wrong way.
Match Report
AC Milan will spend a sixth season outside the Champions League despite completing their Serie A campaign with a Franck Kessie-inspired 3-2 win at SPAL on Sunday.
The Ivory Coast international scored twice after setting up Hakan Calhanoglu's opener but victories for Atalanta and Inter, who scored in the 81st minute to overcome Empoli 2-1, forced the Rossoneri to settle for fifth and a place in the Europa League.

honestly, as an arsenal fan, i was disappointed and angry when ivan gazidis left us , but after I heard Leonardo and maldini are forced to depart ac Milan because of him, i realized our club did the right decision. also, i realized gazidis is considering turning them into a business. however, if Leonardo and maldini leave ac Milan by force and gazidis buys our players that past their prime or not good enough, their fans must protest and inform people who can connect to CEO of Italian clubs to demand change. that's way the same scenario of former ac Milan owner can happen to gazidis . this is serie A and Italy, they want success and result unlike premier league and England who hopes for their downfall just for fame, money and luxury. Finally, keeping Leonardo and maldini in the club will show a positive sign and direction the club is heading to, while forcing them to depart just for exciting gazidis will show a negative sign and direction the club is heading to

let be honest with ourselves here Milan don't deserve to be in the CL next year because when team like Milan with all the history and prestige wait for Atalanta to lose or draw so he can take 4th so we have no business to be there in the first place even tonight match we struggle to win against average team like Spal so imagine if we make it into CL next year and we face Barcelona or Man City what's giong to be we all just hope our board do something in this summer and bring new coach who actually can bring us back to CL without waiting for help from another team .
