Sarabia: It's been difficult to make my Spain debut, but only the best are here

Pablo Sarabia couldn't hide his delight at making his senior debut for Spain against Romania.

The Paris Saint-Germain playmaker played the last 15 minutes of the encounter in Bucharest as La Roja ran out 2-1 winners.

"I'm very happy," Sarabia told the press.

"I've been sent lots of messages, mainly from people close to me who knew how much this meant to me.

"It's been hard to get here, but we know the level of the national team is so, so high.

"I've worked a lot to be here. It's been tough, but the chosen ones come here."

With Robert Moreno using a 4-3-3 system, Sarabia has to make do with a place out wide rather than in the central attacking role that he prefers.

"I feel comfortable on both wings," he noted.

"The closer to the penalty area the better it is for my game, trying to be clinical and help the team with goals and assists."
