Setien's new signing for the Champions League

Barcelona will head to Lisbon on Thursday morning with their minds focused on winning the Champions League and overcoming the struggles they've had since 2015.

Martin Braithwaite, who isn't registered for the competition, and Samuel Umtiti are expected to be the only two players not called up by Quique Setien in his squad announcement on Wednesday.

A lot of excitement surrounds Ousmane Dembele though, who is expected to be on the list.

The Frenchman has already completed a number of training sessions with his teammates and will feel like a new signing to Setien in Lisbon.

Setien had considered calling him up for the game against Napoli on Saturday, but he was of the belief that the last 16 game came just too early for the forward.

"I'm sure that if we take him to Lisbon he'll train with us and then we can see if he can play," Setien said after explaining his decision to leave him out against Napoli before going on to praise his work rate.

The 2019/20 season so far has been non-existent for Dembele, playing just five times in LaLiga Santander and four in the Champions League without making an appearance since November 27.

Now, Dembele will have the chance to regain his confidence and try, at last, to move beyond his persistent injury problems.

Taking on Bayern Munich won't be easy for Barcelona though, and they'll be hoping that the Frenchman can help them pull off what would be something of an upset.
