Sevilla's French central defender Jules Koundé lamented his team's 2-3 defeat against Real Madrid and acknowledged that they have "failed" in what has been "a second half thrown in the trash", in reference to the team's comeback white after the sevillistas went with a 2-0 lead at the break.

"We are very disappointed and angry. We cannot make two such different halves: one with a lot of ambition and doing damage; and in the second we have lacked character and personality with the ball. We have made the efforts in the end. It is a defeat that hurts because of the form", Koundé admitted after the game.

The French international had an impact on this aspect by stating that it was due to the "lack of character" of his team in the second half in which he also highlighted that Real Madrid "has improved", although Sevilla has also "lowered in intensity ".

For Koundé, "it is difficult to explain after what happened in the first half", because in the second they were not "at the same level" as the Sevilla fans and they "clearly failed".

"We are disappointed for us and because we wanted to give our people a joy," admitted the French defender, who assured that his compatriot Eduardo Camavinga "would have deserved the red" for the unreported foul on fellow Frenchman Anthony Martial, who could have of course his second yellow, although he pointed out that they cannot "stay at that" to justify the defeat.
