Should a penalty have been given for a Pique handball in the area?

Referee Pablo Gonzalez Fuertes had a very busy day as he took charge of the Catalan derby between Girona and Barcelona, but there was one potential handball in the 36th minute that neither the man in the middle nor those in the VAR room seemed to spot.

As a ball came into the Barcelona box and was headed towards goal, it seemed to strike the arm of Gerard Pique.

The centre-back was very close to the ball and it may have been deemed involuntary.

The Girona players in the vicinity didn't protest or call for a penalty and the possible infraction was only spotted afterwards.
