Sporting director of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Jose Francisco Molina has announced that Spain coach Luis Enrique has the full backing of the federation.
Enrique will not attend Spain's Euro 2020 qualifiers with the Faroe Islands and Sweden in June due to an ongoing personal issue.
"Luis Enrique hasn't been able to come [to the press conference] today for the same reason that he had to leave the squad in Malta [in March]," Molina said. "He won't be at the two qualifiers either. I want to say that the RFEF's commitment to the coach is total.
"The mutual commitment is still going strong. On our part, there's no doubt and we hope to have [Enrique] as Spain coach for a long time. He and his staff have our support and confidence.
"At no point have we planned for Luis Enrique leaving the national team. His commitment, like ours, is total."
