Real Sociedad officially announced that the club has signed Barcelona defender Héctor Fort.
Previously, several media outlets reported that Real Sociedad had acquired 50% ownership of Fort for 8 million euros. However, after the deal was completed, El Diario Vasco revealed that the actual transaction price was different from what had previously been reported.
El Diario Vasco pointed out that Real Sociedad ultimately spent 8.5 million euros to acquire 60% ownership of Fort. Although the base amount increased, Real Sociedad will gain more if Fort is transferred for a high price in the future.
Mundo Deportivo also followed up on this information, confirming that the fixed transfer fee was indeed 8.5 million euros.
Fort was loaned by Barcelona to Elche last season, making 17 appearances for the team in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists.
