Sport: Barcelona Sees Fàbregas as Flick's Successor

According to Sport, Barcelona is closely monitoring the development of Fàbregas's coaching career. As a La Masia graduate who also had a successful playing career with the club's first team, he is seen as one of the potential candidates to succeed Flick.

The German coach has stated that Barcelona will be his last coaching position before he retires and returns to his family. Although there is no immediate timeline for Flick's departure, the board and sports management are monitoring Fàbregas's work at Como in Italy.

With the Serie A team, he led them to Champions League qualification using a possession-based approach reminiscent of La Masia's philosophy.

In a recent interview with Sport, Cristian Tello, who played alongside Fàbregas at Barcelona for three seasons, discussed his former teammate. When asked if he ever imagined Fàbregas would reach this point, Tello said: "Honestly, no. He was my teammate back then, and I never thought this would happen. But several former teammates speak very highly of him."

When asked about the possibility of Fàbregas coaching Barcelona in the future, Tello stated that Fàbregas fits the club's system perfectly: "Yes, I can certainly see it. He has Barcelona DNA, and he knows very well what kind of player it takes to compete at the highest level. He was very intelligent on the field, so if he brings that same mindset to coaching, he will be an excellent coach."

Beyond the Como path, Barcelona is also monitoring the development of other former players. Busquets is currently interning as a coach with Beletti at Barcelona B. The club sees him as another potential option for future coaching roles.

Currently, Barcelona has not set a timeline for potential coaching staff changes, but the sports management continues to monitor coaches familiar with the club to fill the position when Flick eventually steps down.
