According to Sport, Barcelona has begun taking action regarding Gerard Martín's future, with the club making initial contact with the player and his representatives to prepare for renewal negotiations. Barcelona hopes to improve the contract of the defender, who has become increasingly important in Hansi Flick's plans. Take Kounde out of criticism. He is better than all our center backs. He is at the right back just to help our team which couldn’t replace Dani Alves since back then. Now that the team is stabilized, they deny him his best position which is center back. THIS IS VERY UNFAIR. Kounde did his best to fix the problem. So, now that he was struggling with that position, everyone is attacking him. Players when ignored for a long time go on strikes! Sergio Roberto endured the same thing and nobody noticed.

He lacks build-up from the back. He is slow and poor with passes that will results a counter attack treat by opponents or goals. About 3-4 defenders (kounde, balde, araujo & martin) need to offload and replace with a better one if barca want compete in UCL at highest level
