Latest Arsenal news as Gunners owner Stan Kroenke continues to get fans back onside with the American businessman spotted in a warm embrace with Mikel Arteta at the club's LA training camp
Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has completed a remarkable turnaround to become a bit of a fan favourite at his club.
The American businessman has overseen a radical transformation at the Gunners which has seen Mikel Arteta's side challenge for the Premier League title last season and return to the Champions League. Crucially, Arsenal have recruited well and money has been made available for Arteta to spend, with the highlight of the summer transfer window being Declan Rice's £105 million move from West Ham United.
Indeed, over £200m has been spent on players since the season ended with Jurrien Timber arriving from Ajax and Kai Havertz moving across London from Chelsea. Kroenke has yet to taste major success at Arsenal, but has recorded FA Cup wins during his tenure so far, but that cannot be said for his other business ventures including ownership of the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Rams professional basketball and American football teams respectively.
The 75-year-old watched the Nuggets become unlikely NBA champions for the first time this year while the Rams won the 2022 Super Bowl to record a first championship win since the controversial move to LA from St.Louis in 2016.
Kroenke is also onto a winner with the stunning $5.5 billion SoFi Stadium, home of the Rams and which hosted Arsenal vs Barcelona overnight and is pencilled in for World Cup games in 2026.
Indeed, Kroenke was even pictured signing an Arsenal shirt at the Barcelona game, a true illustration of how much he has managed to get supporters back onside.
