Carlo Ancelotti was eager to strengthen the defence but the Bernabéu hierarchy were unable to complete a single January transfer.
Real Madrid’s pursuit of Alphonso Davies has been unsuccessful. The Canadian international has signed a new long-term deal with Bayern Munich and announced the news in his own inimitable style.
On Tuesday the club’s social media accounts shared a video entitled ‘München my Throne’, with Davies rapping over a hip-hop beat. In it he confirms the new contract and pledges his future to the Bavarian club.
“I ain’t going anywhere. I’m here to stay, baby,” the track begins. “I’m still here ‘till 2030, Munchen my throne this city’s been worthy. Signed that deal now the game looks sturdy, red kit on my back and the goals come early.”
Davies' contract had been due to expire this summer, meaning that he was free to sign a pre-contractual agreement with other teams. Real Madrid have held a long-standing interest in the player and were eager to bring Davies to the Bernabéu.
How much is Alphonso Davies' salary with Bayern Munich?
The Ghana-born left back has developed into one of the best wide players in world soccer but he came from humble beginnings. He was born a Liberian refugee and move to Canada at the age of five, settling in Edmonton and joining the academy of MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps.
After breaking through into the Whitecaps first team at the age of 15 he quickly established himself as a star. Davies attracted interest from top European clubs and agreed a move to Bayern Munich in 2018 on a deal worth up to $22 million once bonuses were hit.
In his first full season with the club he won the treble, lifting the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and the Champions League. He has been a regular presence in the https://en.as.com/soccer/leo-messi-included-in-iffhs-team-of-2023-n/
and is rated as one of the finest full-backs of his generation. With that CV behind him, he was able to demand a lucrative salary to re-sign with Bayern.
Sky Germany reports that Davies' new deal is worth around $15 million per year, not including a signing fee and a number of performance-based bonuses. The deal is a five-year extension on his previous contract, enough to keep him in Bavarian until the summer of 2030.

I see people saying that A. Davies rejected Madrid, sounds laughable. He didn’t reject Madrid. Real Madrid was unwilling to pay more than £50M for him. He does not rank that kind of market value to the club, looking at his age and fitness level. The least amount Madrid were willing to pay was £20 - £25M. We believe that’s what he worth.

An Alfonso Story wouldn’t even Trend or have more than 5 comments in the section if RM name wasn’t in there. That’s how influential Real Madrid is.

nice joke! although I'm a RM fan myself, he was supposed to be a free agent by the end of the season, so RM could have gotten him free (no payment to Bayern but would definitely pay signing bonus to AD himself). So please stop spreading this nonsense!
