Louie Barry is finally set to make his debut for Barcelona's Juvenil A (U19s) team this weekend against San Francisco after receiving international clearance from FIFA.
Barcelona confirmed the signing of Barry from West Bromwich Albion in July but the teenager has been forced to wait for his first competitive appearance.
England youth international Barry, 16, featured in preseason, scoring several goals, but has been unable to play in any of the side's five league games or either of the two UEFA Youth League fixtures to date.
The reason for the delay has been a bureaucratic issue with Barca forced to wait for world football's governing body to clear the transfer. A number of aspects of the deal needed to be checked, including the player's education program at his new club.
English side WBA are now aware that the paperwork has finally been sorted by FIFA and Barca expect everything to be finalised within 48 hours.
Barry, therefore, will be available for selection for this weekend's league game against Mallorca-based side San Francisco, just 93 days after he joined the Catalan club. It will also be the first game for new coach Franc Artiga, who replaced Victor Valdes earlier this week.
Barca beat a number of clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, to the signing of Barry in July. They had to pay WBA a small amount of compensation in development rights even though his contract had expired.
Barry has been a prolific scorer for England at youth level and scored twice last month as the U17s won the Syrenka Cup, beating Finland, Austria and Poland.
