Sturridge gets Champions League prediction wrong for Dortmund's win over PSG

Daniel Sturridge failed to repeat the trick when making his Champions League predictions ahead of Borussia Dortmund's victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

Sturridge had been hailed as 'mystic' by fans after his incredibly accurate prediction prior to Bayern Munich's draw against Real Madrid.

However, the former Liverpool star was inaccurate on this occasion as he predicted that PSG would beat Dortmund due to the strength of the French side's attack.

As it transpired, Dortmund won 1-0 at home, with Niclas Fullkrug scoring the only goal of the game in the 36th minute.

Sturridge had posted on X before the game: 'The yellow wall is special but PSG are in town. PSG will score multiple goals and win, their pace up front will be too much imo.'

However, afterwards Sturridge accepted his prediction was wrong as he wrote: 'Don't doubt the yellow wall. Miles off it Studge..'

Some fans took the opportunity to mock Sturridge for his prediction.

One wrote: 'you probably think you're him cos of little luck yesterday, HOLD'.

Another added: 'This only works once'.

Furthermore, another wrote: 'Not everytime luck can be in your side'.

One user wrote: 'U were lucky last night bro'.

Sturridge has previously received much praise on X after correctly predicting that Leroy Sane would find the net for Bayern against Real Madrid and that Harry Kane would score a penalty.

Before the game, Sturridge wrote: 'Sane will be a big problem tonight. Goal for him and a pen for Kane,'

Fans were left stunned as Sane scored and Kane netted a penalty in the 2-2 draw between Bayern and Real.

After his correct prediction, Sturridge was asked to predict the outcome of a wide range of different events.

One fan asked him: ' Sturridge, who is gonna win the league'.

Meanwhile, another wrote: 'What's happening at Wembley big bro?'.

Sharky asked Sturridge to predict when Manchester City will drop points in the title race. He wrote: 'Can you tell me the exact game that city will drop points please?'.

Another user asked: 'will Chelsea get european football?'.

Sturridge was also asked for the lottery numbers and one user asked him 'Am I getting a girlfriend this year mate?'.
