According to The Athletic, Huijsen will undergo a check-up on Monday, and he hopes to be able to play in the game against Benfica.

The report said that Huijsen is waiting for an examination on his right calf problem on Monday. The 20-year-old Spanish centre-back suffered the injury last week. He still hopes to be able to play in the game against Benfica.

Two young defenders who trained with the first team last week also suffered injuries. 18-year-old Joan Martinez will be out for more than a month due to a back muscle problem, while 19-year-old Victor Valdepenas will be out for at least three weeks due to a knee sprain.

Midfielder Ceballos also joined the injured list this weekend. He was visibly in pain when he left the Sadar Stadium and said that his right leg was hit. The club is concerned that he may be out for nearly two months, but sources close to the player believe he will only be out for four weeks.

Meanwhile, Rodrygo has started some joint training with the team. He was previously absent due to tendinitis in his right calf. Sources within the club and the player's team believe that the 25-year-old Brazilian striker will be able to play in the next La Liga game against Getafe on Monday, March 2.

Recently, Huijsen is in a turmoil of potential Chinese discrimination. He reposted a social media post which used Chinese's thin eyes as the target to satire. Currently, Huijsen deleted the repost, but the comment section of his most recent post is filled with Chinese comments condeming his behaviour. Real Madrid and Huijsen himself don't have any public statement yet.
