Three sources familiar with the matter revealed that Vinicius held a conversation with Florentino Pérez at the end of last month to convey this message. Like all sources in this article, they requested anonymity to protect themselves. Vinicius’ contract with Real Madrid expires in June 2027; renewal talks began in January but have stalled after failing to reach an agreement.

After Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Barcelona in the October 26 El Clásico, Vinicius met with Florentino Pérez to apologize for his behavior during the match. When he was substituted in the 72nd minute, he reacted fiercely: storming off the pitch and shouting, “It’s always me! I’m leaving the team—I’m better off gone, I’m out of here!”

During this meeting, Vinicius’ future was also discussed. He made it clear that due to his relationship with Alonso, he did not see renewing his contract as the best option for himself. His stance has not changed since then.
